Get to know our new Henko tour, and discover a world of no return

It is very complicated to define music, but we know that it generates a wide range of feelings and sensations in us. It is capable of making us happy, of making us sad, it makes us remember the people we love and, thanks to it, our mind goes to places we want and, sometimes, even confronts us with what we would like to escape from.

The most accepted definition, included in the RAE, is “the art of combining the sounds of the human voice or instruments, or of both at the same time, in such a way that they produce delight, moving the sensitivity, whether joyful, whether sadly". But it is also clear that it means a vital journey that allows us to discover who we are actually and learn new characteristics of our own personality as we go through it. It is a journey of no return, because when we listen to certain music we grow as people and we never go back to being who we were.

We can say that The mmusic produces sensations, emotions; music makes us feel. But in what way? Why does a certain song remind us of our ex-partner, if we haven't thought about them in a long time? Why can a concert make us cry or laugh? Why does it “come to us” that way? Why are there songs that we can't stop listening to on loop and that stir us inside?

What does Henko mean?

The word Henko It supposes, precisely, change without return. It is a Japanese word that, more than a word, is a richer concept, which means 'change from within and without return'. Adopt the philosophy Henko It consists of moving forward without turning back, achieving transformative changes that make us a better version of ourselves.

The word is composed of the word hen, what does it mean change, and ko, which has the meaning 'in a different light'. This concept helps us understand that everything is constantly changing and that our perceptions, the way we see things, are also changing.

At some moments we are capable of being the owners of this transformative change and on many other occasions the change is given to us, but what is really relevant It is not whether or not we have chosen that change, but whether we are capable of growing with it.l. To adopt this philosophy we must address what the London Business School professor and economist, Herminia Ibarra, calls the paradox of authenticity. She defends that being true to oneself is not a static concept, but that we evolve thanks to experience, discovering aspects of ourselves that we would not be able to perceive through introspection.

How can music transform our lives?

Music is a universal language of the soul and its influence on our mind is very powerful, since musical notes 'generate' energy. According to different studies, music strengthens learning and memory, regulates hormones related to stress, allows us to evoke experiences and memories, affects heartbeat, blood pressure and pulse, and modulates the speed of brain waves. Incredibly, cows give more milk when they are given Mozart sonatas and plants bloom more when there is music in the background. The key is to find the rhythm that can benefit us in each specific situation.

It is a complex system of sounds, melodies and rhythms that man has been discovering and developing to obtain an infinite number of different possibilities. As with many other forms of cultural expression, it is a way that human beings have to express themselves and represent different emotions, sensations, ideas and thoughts.

Music is of vital importance not only for its beauty and aesthetic value, but also as a support from which the human being can communicate with others and also with himself, since it can be enjoyed both socially and individually.

Another reason why music is important is that it is a phenomenon that allows us to know not only the individual or group of individuals that make it up, but also the listener or the people who enjoy it. Thus we can recognize their preferences, their type of character, their form of expression or their concerns because all these elements are reflected in a certain musical style, in the lyrics, in the melody... etc. Music thus becomes A yescultural symbol that establishes not only individual but also social standards, with respect to the groups that follow this or that music and who see their most relevant characteristics represented in it. It changes both individuals and society. together throughout history.

The power of music in the inner transformation of cinematographic characters

The so-called Leitmotiv, one of the most used resources in cinema to influence significant aspects, is a term coined by the composer Richard Wagner, which translates as driving motif. The music that drives the actions of film characters. Thus, John Williams has been able to create unforgettable musical moments that highlight the action and epic scenes in films such as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, in which we do not understand Indy, without the notes of the famous composer. In their adventures, these short and unforgettable compositions mark the future of the characters in the story.

Another clear example of character transformation imbued by an impressive soundtrack is 007: Skyfall, with the impressive music of Thomas Newman, which accompanies the mythical cinematographic character to delve into the personality of James Bond, bringing to light his weak points and investigating the dark events of his past, which led him to become the most effective Secret Agent. The opposite happens with Super Mario Bros, in whose soundtrack by Koji Kondo, reinterpreted by Brian Tyler, we see a reinvention of the scores, to update the adventures of the plumber brothers through the Mushroom Kingdom. The soundtrack traces the long and tortuous dramatic arc of the characters in a key of humor and adventure.

Returning to John Williams, we cannot fail to mention the epic score of Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi¸ whose composition exalts the origins of this mythical character and the whole saga. The encounters experienced in this latest series, between Vader and Kenobi, offer a new interpretation of history under the immemorial leadership of Williams.

    • Hello Luis,
Sorry that it took us so long to respond, that we had to consult you :)
We will play a Star Trek Suite, where themes from several of the movies will be performed. What we can reveal is that we will play a song by each of these composers: Michael Giacchino, Jerry Goldsmith, Leonard Rosenman and Cliff Eidelman. As a good Trekkie that you are, you surely know them all.

We hope to see you at the concert! 🖖🏻

  8. Hello, FSO Team!
I already have tickets to see them in Tenerife next year! I discovered them with Krypton and I was hypnotized. You do magic with music! Thank you so much!
I would like to know if the OST for "ET, the Extraterrestrial" will be in the repertoire of the Henko tour by any chance?
And a curiosity, soundtracks that they have already performed on previous tours such as "ET", "Ghostbusters", "Back to the Future", "The Neverending Story" or tributes to the 80s, 90s, to John Williams or Hans Zimmer, and a long etc. would they be repeated?
    Thank you very much 🙂

    • Hello noe!
Thank you for trusting us 🙂
We would love to repeat (in fact the ET OST is one of our favorites). But there are many soundtracks that we want to show you to give all our viewers a greater variety of repertoire. That's why, even though it gives us a lot more work, we don't usually repeat it.

Anyway, you can see and listen to us on both Youtube and Spotify:
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoCd3DSQEGI
ET we played it in 2015 and in 2018 (you have both versions on YouTube) 😉

See you in Tenerife, and we will continue working so that you like the next concert as much as the one in Krypton

      Greetings!

      • Hello! I understand, you are right. There are many soundtracks waiting to be performed.
The one from ET is also one of my favorite OSTs. 🙂 I hope that one day you succumb and repeat it 😉

You have a fan for life and I have no doubt that the HENKO tour will be wonderful.
Until May 4, 2024 and all future tours in Tenerife! 😀

  10. Hello! Leave you a message of gratitude and encouragement so that you continue doing what you do so well, with humility, with such good energy and with those explanations from Constantino before each piece that make you understand the music better (please don't stop doing it). We have already seen you 3 times in Salamanca and we will repeat with the Henko tour concert. Have you considered introducing pieces from charismatic series, not just movies? 🙂
    We love you!

    • Hello Rosa Maria,
On each tour we try to make a different selection of films and series. On the Henko tour, we played the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, nothing more, nothing less. And we have done a monograph on The Bridgertons, in Madrid… Therefore, we do play series sometimes! Do you have any recommendations? We are always attentive to what the public asks of us and open to all ideas 🙂

  13. I was in Cartagena for the concert on January 28. It seemed beastly to me. It's the second time I've heard the orchestra. Last year in Zaragoza. And both one and the other seemed wonderful to me. I am from Tenerife and I will continue going to concerts in different places to enjoy the good work of this wonderful orchestra with its brand new conductor. Thanks for Henko.

How well you knew how to handle the sound problem. On the other hand, I don't know if it is possible for you to provide me with the contest code since Ovi 75 does not work. Thank you so much for making us forget all the problems and abducting us with your music.
