The best soundtracks by Christophe Beck
The music in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and in its parallel series, TOangel, also composed by Christophe Beck and Robert J. Kral, is a key aspect of both series. The main theme of Buffy plays in the opening credits of the series. The song itself has no lyrics; It begins with some keyboard notes, with a characteristic sound of horror movies from the 30s. But quickly, it is replaced by light rock; an electric guitar riff, which winks at young and postmodern culture that represents a twist to the horror genre.
The song is played by the punk rock band Nerf Herder, that in an interview they explained that "Buffy's production team hired some famous composers to compose a song and they didn't like what they did, they had a rather low budget, and they asked local bands to show them some ideas."
His work in Cheaper by the Dozen (Twelve at home), forms a symphonic comedy score, with bombastic emphatic melodies endowed with a great sense of rhythm. It offers good romantic themes and a pleasant tone overall. In the case of Two For the Money,Yomite), starring Al Pacino, the soundtrack alternates and also fuses symphonic music with electronic and ambient instrumentation, giving the film a certain grandiloquent and emphatic air.
In The Sentinel, (The shadow of suspicion), where he returns to work on a film full of great artists such as Michael Douglas or Kiefer Sutherland, the composer creates an action score, which uses different types of musical prototypes of the genre. Dynamic themes, orchestral effects and a delicious melodic frenzy. It is an efficient and homogeneous composition, despite its conventionalism.
On the other hand, the Canadian also worked in 2007, on the original soundtrack of Fred Klaus, Santa Claus's thug brother, a Christmas comedy starring Vince Vaughn. This work is dominated by the film's commercial songs, by great artists such as Elvis Prestley, Doris Day, the Jacksons Five or Senead O'Connor. These works relegate the composer's notable music to a corner, summarized in a suite with emphatic, romantic and dramatic music, whose main virtue is elegance.
The last stop in our review of his best compositions for film, we establish it in the successful Hangover in Las Vegas, Todd Phillips' multi-award-winning comedy. The ambient soundtrack is partially based on acoustic folk music which, applied in the film, gives a humorously bleak tone.

What sets this soundtrack apart from other Marvel soundtracks, however, is a subtle sense of fun since, after all, it's not just a superhero movie, but also a heist comedy."
