What is FSO?<\/p>\n

The Film Symphony Orchestra is a ground-breaking artistic project which was founded to address a gap in the musical and cultural industry in Spain. We are an elite, professional symphony orchestra made up of more than 70 musicians, exclusively dedicated to music for cinema and related art forms. Led by the internationally acclaimed composer and conductor Constantino Mart\u00ednez Orts, the FSO performs a rich program of film music concerts, sometimes accompanied by visual projections. We also offer composers the chance to record their own soundtracks.<\/p>\n

The orchestra<\/h2>\r\n

The Film Symphony Orchestra\u2019s in-house musicians possess a range of instrumentation and style that allows them to respond to a variety of programs. The orchestra is made up of 80 professional musicians who have been selected for their musicality and technical prowess. FSO\u2019S OPENING TOUR SUCCESS \u2013 THE JOHN WILLIAMS SPECIAL OF 2012<\/div>
The Film Symphony Orchestra celebrated its first national tour in February 2012 with a double repertoire of soundtracks from composer John Williams, 5-time Oscar winner and, at that time, 45-ttime nominee. Throughout the month of March, the FSO performed 18 concerts across Spain\u2019s most revered concert halls and venues. With unprecedented media coverage, a total of 35,000 spectators attended this once-in-a-lifetime musical experience.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

SECOND NATIONAL TOUR - FSO TOUR 2013<\/div>
In 2013, the FSO began a new tradition in music in Spain: an annual tour of symphonic performances of the best music in film. Thus, was born the FSO TOURS program which, to this day, transverses the Spanish peninsula, bringing unforgettable shows to every corner of the country. In 2013, five concerts and a wide range of film music hits brought thousands of spectators to their feet.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

THIRD NATIONAL TOUR \u2013 FSO TOUR 2014<\/div>
2014 was the year in which the FSO continued to break the mould with its offering of cinematographic music in Spain, with a huge concert for 10,000 spectators at Madrid\u2019s revered Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, as well as 10 further concerts in major Spanish cities. This was also the monumental year in which acclaimed actor Harrison Ford directed our orchestra live on the Spanish television programme El Hormiguero, and the year in which we raised Madrid\u2019s sleepy subway passengers from their seats with our now famous flash mob. 2014 was yet another year in which we brought film music to the people.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

FOURTH NATIONAL TOUR \u2013 FSO TOUR 2015<\/div>
2015 saw the first program of Oscar theme tunes from films like The Matrix, The Avengers, Imitation Game and The Theory of Everything being played across 20 cities in Spain by the Film Symphony Orchestra, following an unforgettable debut concert at Madrid\u2019s Plaza de Toros de las Ventas.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

BACK TO THE FUTURE IN CONCERT<\/div>
In 2015, FSO brought the world premiere of Back to the Future in Concert to Spain. Film Symphony Orchestra performed the original soundtrack as the cult classical was projected on the big screen. This was one of the first instances of live soundtrack performance in Spain at the time.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

FIFTH NATIONAL TOUR \u2013 FSO TOUR 2016<\/div>
In 2016, the FSO returned with a tour of more than 25 concerts which included elite performances of theme tunes from Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens and The Hateful Eight (both nominated for Best Soundtrack at the 2016 Academy Awards), as well as classics from films such as Conan The Barbarian, Cinema Paradiso, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Schindler\u2019s List, Silverado and Psycho.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

FROZEN IN CONCERT<\/div>
In November 2016, the FSO was honoured to perform the music from Disney\u2019s Frozen live at the Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid, and Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, for an audience made of up of our youngest music lovers.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

SIXTH NATIONAL TOUR - FSO TOUR 2017<\/div>
2017 was a big year for the FSO. In February, we had the great privilege of accompanying actor Dani Rovira as he presented the 31st Annual Goya Film Awards, with music especially composed for the occasion by our conductor, Constantino Mart\u00ednez-Orts. Additionally, in autumn of the same year, we completed a tour of more than thirty venues in Spain. We are delighted to say that the \u2018SOLD OUT\u2019 sign was hung up outside most of those venues.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

THE MUSIC OF STAR WARS<\/div>
In spring of 2017, the FSO gave an exclusive tour of concerts celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of the first Star Wars movie, Star Wars IV: A New Hope. The entire program of music was given over to the various Star Wars soundtracks created by the Oscar winning John Williams. A series of concerts that was truly out of this world!<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

SEVENTH NATIONAL TOUR - FSO TOUR 2018\/19<\/div>

John Williams special<\/p>\nMany surprises were in store for us during the FSO TOUR 2018\/19, with the most ambitious tour so far, which spanned from September 2018 to May 2019. We returned to the stage with the most monumental tribute ever made in Spain to the greatest band composer sounds in history: John Williams, winner of 5 Oscars and 52 nominations. More than 4 hours of music spread over 2 concert programs. More than 30 movies. More than 30 cities. Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable tour.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

EIGHTH NATIONAL TOUR - FSO TOUR 2019\/20<\/div>
The 2019\/20 tour took place between October 2019 and March 2020 and we carried throughout the national territory a repertoire focused on film music of recent years, with works by composers such as John WIlliams, Hans Zimmer, James Horner and Alexandre Desplat. After a short break during the pandemic, we are looking forward to returning to the last concerts of the tour in the summer of 2021. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

HOLLYLOVE<\/div>
In 2021, we celebrate Valentine's Day in style with 5 concerts at the Teatro Coliseum in Madrid, performing the best love songs in the history of cinema in concert! HOLLYLOVE is the first and only show that collects the most romantic melodies of the seventh art: Titanic, Love Actually, The Bodyguard, La La Land, Cinema Paradiso, Out of Africa, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and many more! The success was such that the show is repeated annually in February to relive love with the most romantic soundtracks in cinema. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

NINTH NATIONAL TOUR - F\u00c9NIX - TOUR 2021\/22<\/div>
In September 2021, after the pandemic, we returned to the stage with a new tour: F\u00c9NIX. An exciting show that represented the resurgence of life, art and culture. A blow, a roar, a spectacular musical journey through the most iconic soundtracks of the seventh art. We are experiencing the resurgence of the FSO in style! <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

THE BRIDGERTONS 2022<\/div>
For all those who were left wanting more after the premiere of the Bridgerton series, we offered in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona a unique and unrepeatable musical show created from the palace's most elegant soundtrack: THE BRIDGERTONS IN CONCERT. An exciting journey through the music Kris Bowers wrote for the Netflix original series. A show to excite us and let us be seduced by our favorite series of the moment, The Bridgertons. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

TENTH NATIONAL TOUR - KRYPTON - TOUR 2022\/23<\/div>
In 2022 we return with the interstellar force of KRYPTON, to captivate you with an impressive musical spectacle based on the soundtracks of the best hero and superhero films in the history of cinema. KRYPTON was a superlative tribute to humanity, to the goodness of human beings and to all the people who every day are invisible, anonymous superheroes who, with their superpowers, help others, bring smiles and save lives.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

ELEVENTH NATIONAL TOUR - HENKO - TOUR 2023\/24<\/div>
With its impressive staging, HENKO offers a moving experience inspired by the best soundtracks of all time. HENKO is a tribute to courage, inner change and is born from the most emblematic melodies of films such as The Rock, Skyfall, Mulan, Indiana Jones, Ice Age, Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Trek, The Godfather, Pocahontas, Harry Potter among many others! This promising tour of more than 60 concerts, in more than 30 cities, is sweeping, hanging the \u201cSold Out\u201d sign in all its concerts.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

DRACUL 2023<\/div>
To celebrate Halloween night, on October 31, 2023 we premiere FSO's most chilling show: DRACUL, the best horror cinema in concert! DRACUL transported us to the most sinister corners of suspense and horror cinema through the scores that accompanied films such as Dracula, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Frankenstein, Poltergeist, The Prophecy, Coco, Casper, Gremlins... among many! others!<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
